Book Summery:

Freelance journalist Colton West can’t wait to finally end it with the rich and shallow Martin. Their relationship had been a mistake from the beginning. But just when Colton feels that he’s made it clear to Martin it’s over and he can move on with his life and career, he gets a phone call that will change his world forever.

Whitfield, Vermont, is the sleepy little town where Colton grew up, a town he couldn’t wait to leave. It’s also the place where his best high school friend was found murdered years before, left on a road outside town that goes nowhere. The killer was never caught, although a stoic old man named George Hill, who lived with his young grandson in the only house on that road, was considered by many to be the prime suspect and passed away several years later.

But now, another boy has been found dead at the end of that same lonely road, with his body eerily laid out in the same disturbing manner as Colton’s best friend. And this time, the victim is Colton’s fifteen-year-old nephew.

With the original murder suspect deceased, Colton knows the killer of both teenagers is still on the loose, perhaps preparing to strike again, and Colton won’t rest in his investigation until he unearths the whole, ugly truth.

It is a very rare occurrence that I can read a murder mystery and not puzzle out the killing in just a few chapters. While I had my suspicions at the beginning of The Angel At The End Of The Road and throughout the entire story I have to say that DJ Manly did a fantastic job of keeping me on the edge of my seat till the last chapter. The main Characters Colton and Adam were believable and realistic enough that I was drawn into their hardships as both adults and when they were children. DJ managed to take the sad mentality of some overly zealous religious freaks and throw in a plausible small town mentality and honestly gave one of the most believable stories I have read in a while. The Angel At The End Of The Road could have and very well may have been a murder mystery that happened in any number of small towns in America or sadly even Canada.
I don’t want to give anything away about this story, which is why I am not speaking about specifics in this book. I do honestly not want to give away hint or clues to what happens and the Summery clearly covers it better then I can.  I will say this its is Colton’s nephews death that brings him back home but it’s the towns secrets that will keep him and Adam there till the very end. DJ touches tastefully on dark childhood secrets that often times are hidden by those who trust the most and even those who claim to know us best don’t always know us or those around them as well as they thought. This is honestly DJ’s best work to date.

On a scale of 1-10 of hotness The Angel At The End Of The Road Gets a 7.. While it isn’t one of DJ Manly’s hottest books what it lacks in heat makes up in story and depth of content.

On a scale of 1-10 (1 being wait till pay day to buy this book and 10 being sell the children) SELL, SELL, SELL!!! This books Is a MUST, Must Read!! I cannot thank DJ enough for asking me to read and review this book.

In closing The Angel At The End Of The Road is simply a classic read. It is worthy of Agatha Christy Mystery! I can see this being the next big Made for TV special! Watch out TLC DJ Manly Has the next big thing Written here!

A Fab New Series of Books

It has been a long time since I blogged anything… My Reality has been busy with mindless things that I don’t care to blog about.. Just let me say its not always easy being a mom to 4 children and my sanity to have more then one has been called into question a lot this past summer… What I want to talk about is a series of books that I have been reading over the last few days.

I have finally overcome my Severus Snape addiction and have moved back to reading AJ Llewellyn’s books. I have been truly blessed over the years to have befriended AJ and often get the pleasure to chat with AJ… I have said many time I love everything AJ the only thing Better is AJ and DJ when they write together and Their Orgasmic Texas Dawn books do not Disappoint!!!  Currently there are 9 published the 10th book is due out 10/12/13 if Silver Publishing’s Page is correct.

We start out meeting Kieran Fox a suspended Canadian undercover copper who feel in love with the wrong bad boy.. His special ability to get the bad guy no matter what attracts a very open minded small town Texas Sheriff Dillon De Priest who recruits Kieran to come work for him while the dust settles in the far north. While helping Dillon clean up the growing drug problem in his small town Kieran meets and falls in love with the very hunky and very closeted Jubilee Mason.. While the sparks fly for these too they meet up with some very serious problems not within their jobs but with their relationship.
Now let me tell you the story line for each story is spine tingling and nail biting…. Each book is in my opinion well researched, realistic and better than many popular big name police novels on the market. It seems like every 50 to hundred pages something new is happening and leads into the next book… While I know I need to go and take the time to review each book (and as soon and I finish my current project I plan too) I have to honestly say that both AJ Llewellyn and DJ Manly have yet again out done themselves. They both can and do in my opinion give Grissom a run for his money.

The good thing I have also found about these books that you can follow the story reading them out of order (the I highly suggest reading them in order) that is not something that you can do with series books. As of this evening I am up to Turmoil and while we have said a fond farewell to some characters (though they don’t really leave us) We have met and get to follow new ones. The love, loss and every day issues that these two fantastic writers cover make me want to go out and fix that injustices in the world.. Especially the south.. Texas Still has a very backwards good ol’ boy mentality that is detrimental in this day and age they will be slow to come around to Equal rights of all people not just the people they morally support.

I HIGHLY suggest you run don’t walk to your computer, laptop, iPad, Kindle device and go to https://spsilverpublishing.com/index.html?book_authors_id=91&typefilter=book_authors&zenid=a1c041cd4fefd0a27e9c160caf55e995 and start buying up the books right now.

Something Wicked Part 2

Chapter 2
Severus’s day ended much like it began, ugly, miserable and hateful. The first year actually paid more attention in class then his 7th years and despite trying as hard as he could Severus was forced to take more points from his own snakes then the lions. By the time Severus closed and locked his office doors Severus’s mood was blacker then it was when he was a Death Eater forced to torture Muggles. In the year since Harry lived up to obligations to the Wizarding community they were growing closer. Up till this Kimo Wilder showed up Severus didn’t doubt that he and Harry could have a future. Now how could he compete with a Hawaiian god? Thankfully it was the last day before Easter break. No students for one full week. Since Harry seemed to be busy with the new professor Severus started to rethink his original plans. He doubted Harry would want to spend the holiday with him at Snape Manor.  Lost in thought Severus didn’t notice that he had company.
Kimo was able to get past Severus’s room fairly easily considering how strong of a wizard this professor was honestly he expected a lot more work to get into his rooms then he had. For a few moments Kimo just stood there clouded so he wouldn’t be seen or felt. He wanted to see what it was about this man that enraptured his children and nephews. He was a very dark man. Not an evil kind of dark more like something he couldn’t put his finger on. The only light he saw within the man was when he thought about Harry Potter.
“Very interesting.”
Thought Kimo.  Seems as if Severus cares deeply for Harry. More deeply then he seems to realize. Maybe that is the attraction. Bad boys are always hot. The more Kimo learned about the Potion Master the less he stopped hating him and the more he began to respect him.
How could he hate a man who was tormented more then even at Kimo’s worst moment? He needed to do something to help him and Harry But how? Severus seemed to be lost in thought when Kimo dropped his shields. Or so he thought
“Do you care to tell me why you are here? You might be the strongest Kahuna in Hawaii but here in this castle I have the upper hand and I don’t need my wand to do it either.”
“I came to ask if you would like to visit my home over the Easter holiday. I can show you around my mountain and teach you about the plants and herbs other Kahuna’s use and while I am unable to teach you all my secrets I can and will broaden your knowledge in potions. “
I will be extending the offer to Harry as well. I think that he would enjoy seeing the islands. He has told me that he hasn’t been permitted to travel much in his youth. I think you both would benefit from the trip. Your Headmaster said something about a port key. If your interested we will be leaving at 5am tomorrow. I have been gone from my family too long and will be leaving within the hour but Dumbledore will instruct you farther.
With that Kimo turned and left through the portrait leaving Severus confused, and slightly excited.
“I guess I should pack then”
Severus said to no one as he walked into his bedchamber.
Harry stood in his rooms dazed. Kimo had just left to go talk to Severus and to invite him along to visit Kimo’s Mountain home and to met the rest of his family.  Harry knew how Severus’s mind worked and while Kimo was highly attractive in a Hawaiian God sort of way he wasn’t tall, dark and grumpy.  Kimo was up front and honest about his husband and while he understood that he was here because his children and some fan girl named Silver worshipped the ground his Potion Master walked on. Harry needed Severus to know once and for all that he was the man he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Maybe this trip would be a good thing.  Maybe they could finally put the past behind them and move forward together. Ignoring him at breakfast was hard and for some unknown reason Severus missed lunch. Both Kimo and Dumbledore talked him out of running down to find Severus to see if he was ok.  This had to be one of the craziest things he has ever done and being that he is the one and only Harry Potter he has pulled off some crazy stuff in his 7yrs as a student.  Running off to another country with Severus Snape. It will be a miracle if he makes it back to Hogwarts in a week unhexed.  Turning towards his bedchamber
“What in the hell do you wear in Hawaii?”
Was the last thing Harry thought before going to his room to pack for his trip?
Dinner was quieter then it normally was. Most of the kids boarded the train home and the few remaining would be flooing or Port Keying out by early evening. Harry was already seated and sipping some pumpkin juice idly chatting with Dumbledore when Severus walked in looking madder then a hatter. Harry’s heart sank when he saw Severus. If he were this angry now there would be no way he would have agreed the trip. Kimo was wrong.  He would be going to Hawaii alone. Maybe that was a good thing though. He would take this week to get Severus out of his system and return to his position as Professor of the Dark Arts fully over the Dungeon Bat of a Potions Professor.  Lost in thought Harry almost missed Severus talking to him. Turning his head and giving Severus a confused look that only seemed to make Severus more cross.
“If you think you could pull yourself away from daydreaming of your Hawaiian god long enough to met me in my office after dinner I would like to speak to you and Dumbledore after dinner. If you could kindly pass on the message Potter I would be forever grateful.”
With that Severus was gone in a flurry of black robes. Harry didn’t know what to think.
